Dear Guest,

Perhaps you are already working on your audit plan. The report Risk in Focus 2021 would possibly give some useful input for your 2021 audit plan. The Chartered IIA’s annual Risk in Focus 2021 report tracks the risks facing organisations year-on-year as ranked by 579 Chief Audit Executives (CAEs). As coronavirus continues to disrupt the corporate landscape, a new survey suggests businesses across Europe have significantly shifted their attitudes towards risk.

Training Annual Audit Planning - 7PE

The audit plan shouldn’t just be about the audit plan, it’s a key opportunity to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders. It also “sets the stage” for many of the things the IA function does and how it is perceived. This training on 20 October given by James Paterson will share some of the latest good practices and insights in relation to internal audit plans, including details from the latest global IIA practice guide. It will also be an excellent opportunity to benchmark what you do with others. What former participants say about James: "James is well versed in internal auditing, and very well able to share best practices (in an enthusiastic and energetic way)"

Non-traditional auditors: Better Practices

To bring a high level of expertise on-board, IAFs increasingly include persons that are not trained as auditor and/or have no experience in performing internal audits. These non-traditional auditors, often named rotational auditors, guest auditors or ‘subject matter  experts’, function as part of the IAF for a specific period of time and come from within the organization or are hired from the outside. The use of non-traditional auditors has several advantages for the non-traditional auditors themselves, the IAF and the organization.

This paper was adapted to the specifics of the (re)insurance undertakings, in particular the regulatory requirements of Solvency II.

Internal Auditor October 2020

This issue of Internal Auditor is about the emerging leaders of 2020. “Today’s emerging leaders are not intimidated by technology or complex data, nor are they satisfied with doing things ‘how they’ve always been done. They are fascinated by the unknown, critical in their thinking, and literally rewriting the rules of internal auditing."
